Journey To The West

This classic folktale chronicles the pilgrimage of a monk and his protectors, Monkey King, Pigsy and Friar Sand, towards India to collect sacred texts to bring Buddhism to China. The heroes follow the historic Silk Road, an ancient network connecting disparate peoples in Asia, Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe to spread trade, knowledge, culture and technology.

This community conducts their work, routine, celebrations, relationships and leisure with the same spirit of romance, fantasy and magic as this mythic journey as progress is made together.

Children echo the ambitious example set by these magical characters and their aspirations. Grooves and lines connect the magical to the mundane, Cabramatta's rich history to its future, into a single interwoven social fabric strengthened by its diversity and celebrated for it.
